Privacy Policy
In short: the app does not collect, store or share personal data of your customers. It uses a few settings of your store to calculate a ship date, and it keeps its configuration inside your Shopify store.
Who we are
Shipping Date Rules (“the app”) is provided by Jef srl, Via Luigi Einaudi, 280, 62012 Civitanova Marche (MC), Italy (“we”, “us”). For the store data described below, we act as a processor on behalf of the merchant who installs the app.
What the app does
The app lets a merchant set working days, closures and preparation times by product tag, and shows shoppers on the product page the day their order ships.
Store data the app accesses
When you use the app in the Shopify admin, it accesses only:
- Store settings: the store time zone and country, to know what day it is for your warehouse and on which day your week starts.
- Product tags: the list of tags used in your store, only to suggest them while you create rules. The app requests read-only access to products for this purpose.
- The app configuration: your working days, closures, rules and settings. They are saved in a metafield of the app installation in your Shopify store.
The app does not access orders, customers, payment information or any other store data.
Shopper data
The app does not collect personal data of your customers. On the storefront, a small script calculates the ship date in the shopper’s browser, using the app configuration and the tags and variant availability (in stock, quantity) of the product being viewed, which the app’s block adds to the page. The script:
- does not send any request to our servers or to third parties;
- does not set cookies and does not use local storage;
- does not track shoppers or their behaviour.
Where data is stored
- The app configuration is stored by Shopify, in your store. We do not keep a copy on our own servers, and the app has no database.
- The app’s admin page is a set of static files delivered by Amazon Web Services (AWS) CloudFront. To deliver them, AWS processes technical information such as IP address and browser type. We do not enable access logs.
- Shopify’s mandatory privacy webhooks (customer data requests, customer redaction and shop redaction) are received by a function hosted on AWS in the European Union (Milan, Italy). We log only the webhook topic and the store domain, for troubleshooting, and keep these logs for 90 days.
Sharing and selling
We do not sell, rent or share data. The only service providers involved are Shopify, which hosts your store and the app configuration, and AWS, which hosts the app’s files and webhook endpoint.
Retention and deletion
- The configuration stays in your store while the app is installed. When you uninstall the app, Shopify deletes the app installation together with its metafield.
- When Shopify sends a customer data request or a customer redaction request, there is nothing to export or delete, because the app holds no customer data. When Shopify sends a shop redaction request after uninstall, there is no further store data on our side to delete.
Your rights
Depending on where you are, for example under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data and to object to its processing. Shoppers who want to exercise these rights should contact the store they bought from. Merchants can contact us at the address below. You can also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
If the app starts using data in a different way, we will update this page and its effective date before the change takes effect.
